Nintendo Direct

Nintendo continues to amaze and excite the world by bringing people together through gaming. I love the way they market their products and how they get the whole gaming community hyped up through their frequent directs that they livestream. Today, The Nintendo direct livestream for September happened and focused on various Switch games coming out later in 2019, with an emphasis on two titles: "Luigi's Mansion 3" and "Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield." The September Nintendo Direct was broadcast on Nintendo's YouTube, Twitch, and Twitter channels at 6 p.m. I highly suggest checking it out if you have not seen it yet or missed it live.

I personally am most excited for the "Pokémon" information as it was my childhood and the source of many good memories in video games. I would play for hours and hours while trying to "catch them all!" Nintendo has always managed to market their games in a way that promotes fun and playing others. I love my Xbox of course but if I want to get friends together or play some good old fashioned couch play, then I always look toward my Nintendo library of games and consoles. They are also one of the first of the big three gaming companies to do this direct livestream style of content release and the fans have supported it greatly. The style is well received and all the success has caused the other two to follow suit. The only negative is how this transition hurts some of the biggest video game conferences around the world like "E3" when there is little left to be shown and revealed if everything has been put out by the companies directly beforehand.

Speaking of the Nintendo direct and all the Switch games that were talked about. I do not want to overlook "Super Smash Brothers," my favorite game and the one I play the most. They finally released a new character and new maps which I am so excited for. This Saturday, there is a tournament hosted in the Bear Cave so please check it out and enter if you want. I will be there and would love to play with you or talk about the Nintendo direct. Let me know in the comments below if you watched the Nintendo direct and what your favorite Nintendo game is!

  1. I just recently bought a Nintendo Switch over the summer and I could not be happier with it. I brought it to college, of course, and my dorm roommates and I have played it for countless hours. The only downside is that all I have so far is "Mario Kart", but I am hoping to grab some more games in the near future. Also, I agree with your statement about Nintendo direct and other services like it becoming a detriment to conventions like E3. Personally, I have never attended E3, but I watch many of the trailers/videos that come out of it and I would hate to see it dwindle.
